One of the easiest activities we can do during the Spring months to assist our turf in the recovery process is perform a simple spring clean up. This can be achieved by lightly raking the lawn. This will help remove any miscellaneous winter debris but more importantly it will help get the grass blades to get vertical. Why is this important? Turf often gets matted down during the winter months due to the weight of the snow and performing a simple light raking will reverse this condition. Air circulation will be improved which will help decrease the possibility of disease activity and new growth will have somewhere to go. One final note please DO NOT power rake / dethatch your lawn during the Spring. For further explanation of why we suggest this please feel free to CALL OUR OFFICE.
